Polarization-preserving fiber array (PM-FA) is mostly used in coherent optical communication. Polarization-preserving fibers can keep the polarization state of light waves unchanged during transmission, which can give full play to the superiority of coherent reception. Polarization-preserving fiber array is a V-shaped groove (i.e. V-Groove) to install a strip of polarization-preserving fibers on the array substrate, which can achieve highly dense parallel transmission while ensuring the stability of optical wave polarization.
