Invention of optical fiber

One day in 1870, British physicist Ding Dal went to the lecture hall of the Royal Society to talk about the full reflection principles of the lecture hall. The water is bright. As a result, the audience was surprised. It was seen that the light water flowed out of the small hole of the bucket, the water flowed, and the light was bent, and the light was captured by the curved water. People once found that light can spread the fine wine sprayed from the barrel; people also found that light can move along the curved glass rod. Why is this? Is the light no longer straight? These phenomena attracted Dadar's attention. After his research, it was found that this was the role of light reflection. Because the density of the medium and other medium was larger than the surrounding substances (such as air), that is, the light shot from the water to the air and should be in the angle angle. When it is greater than a certain angle, the refraction light disappears, and all light reflects back into the water. On the surface, light seems to be bent in the water. Later, people made a glass fiber with high transparency, thick and thin -like spider silk -glass fiber. When the light was ejected into the glass fiber at a suitable angle, the light moved along the curved glass fiber. Because this fiber can be used to transmit light, it is called light -guided fiber.
